The legacy of Henry A. Little

Henry Little graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College in 1961 with a BS in Accounting. He received his Chartered Accountant license on January 31, 1964. Little was a partner at Luffey, Little and Company in Monroe with John Luffey Sr.

Little was committed to serving the university. Todd Little spoke about the legacy of ULM in his family which led to his decision to honor his father by establishing the chair.

“If it hadn’t been for the ULM accounting program, it’s unlikely that I would have been able to pursue the career path that many of my family and I have pursued,” said Todd Little.

Todd Little graduated in 1989 from the then University of Northeast Louisiana and began his accounting career with Luffey, Little and Company in 1989, where his father was a partner. Todd and his wife Kathy have three children, Cheyenne, Sierra and Auger.

“ULM meant a lot to Dad and I am honored to be a part of his legacy in the accounting program. He really liked this school, ”said Todd Little.

About the endowed chair

The Henry A. Little, CPA, Endowed Professorship in Accounting was established with an initial investment of $ 60,000 which received matching $ 40,000 from the Louisiana State Board of Regents to create an endowment of $ 100,000. The balance has increased to over $ 138,000 and will support the professors of the ULM accounting program in perpetuity.

Jason Ashby, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Accounting, holds the Henry A. Little, CPA, Endowed Professorship.

“One of the most attractive factors for me in choosing ULM as my place to work after my PhD was the availability of faculty positions for the ULM accounting program. The chair gives me access to the technology and statistical tools necessary for my research. It also allows me to participate in professional development opportunities that will help me improve in the classroom and in academia in general, ”said Ashby.

“Todd and Kandy Little have been advocates for ULM for many years and have made a significant impact on our community through their dedicated work in the field of accounting. This endowment will continue to honor the legacy of Henry A. Little through the ULM accounting program, ”said Morgan P. Morgan, Ed.D., Development Manager of the ULM Foundation.
