The newly hired Asia Pacific Director of Tiger Analytics believes that “now is the time” for companies in the region to invest in advanced analytics as they embark on digital transformation projects.

Anupam Bhargava, who joined the company in September from Nielsen, where he led the company’s Innovation Practice in 50 emerging markets, said Asia-Pacific Campaign that Tiger Analytics has chosen to expand in Asia-Pacific in response to increased demand from businesses in the region looking to expand their data capabilities, which it believes is the cornerstone of digital transformation.

“Businesses are realizing that traditional analytical approaches have limitations and that AI and new age analytical approaches will have greater business impact,” he said.

The Silicon Valley-based company provides AI and advanced analytics consulting to several Fortune 500 companies. It has offices in Chennai, Bangalore, Dallas and Jersey City, and opened an office in Singapore in late 2019.

Bhargava believes that Tiger Analytics’ focus on ‘high-end data science approaches’, with 70% of its work involving AI and data science and 75% of its staff holding graduate degrees, is which makes his approach “unique”. The company employs 500 data scientists and engineers around the world.

“So far, competition is limited in the region, but we expect it to continue to grow in 2020 as more pure analytics companies develop in APAC,” Bhargava noted.

He already works with telecommunications, CPG and retail companies in the APAC region. There are currently five employees in Singapore, but Bhargava expects to hire additional employees in the first quarter.
